Inside 30 days - no charge (if you return Vonage device). Inside 90 days - $39.99 fee + rebate recovery. Outside 90 days - $39.99 fee. |

Thank you very much. That info proved quite elusive when I was actually looking for it. I didn't want to waste anybody's time at support. I'm sure they have their hands full. |

Vonage says it has "no annual contracts" but a termination fee is kind of like an annual contract.
Sure, you're not locked into paying for the full service for 12 months, but the fact that there's a fee ($39.99) if you terminate before 12 months is essentially a contract of $3.33 per month.
I know it's posted here in the forum, but if you were to sign up online, it's hidden in the long and tiring Terms of Service.
Why can't they just be up front and honest about it? |

The last two are correct, but the "no charge" period is 14 days, not 30.

Whoa...that's new. I swear it was 30 days before, not 14. Geez, if you order the device direct from Vonage you'd be lucky to have a couple days to try the service out then you have to start trying to cancel before you're out of the money back guarantee period. |

I know, I'm pretty sure it was 30 days when I signed up last year. Thay also added the 'not to exceed 250 minutes' clause as well. |

there seems to be some terrible reading comprehension on this thread.
Vonage STILL gives you the first 30 days to cancel and the 14 days is the period AFTER cancellation to return the equipment.
Here, have a look

Yes. Vonage will apply a $39.99 disconnect fee to each line that is cancelled within one year of being activated. If you cancel within the Money Back Guarantee period of 30 days and return your device within 14 days of your cancellation, the disconnect fee will be refunded. |

Relax, Francis. They've modified it (again) since we discussed that. When we last discussed it a couple weeks back it clearly stated that the money back guarantee period was 14 days. Obviously they realized how asinine that was and put it back to 30 days. I imagine Vonage has been under a great deal of scrutiny with all the bad press they've gotten recently. It doesn't surprise me that they would try to clean up things that are blatant attempts to screw the [potential] customers. |

they need to remove that link I posted...as the ToS again is at 30 days.
funny thing blakadher you are in Vancouver, WA... that is where my parents live and had one hellish experience with Vonage. I am also a Vonage customer btw and am ok with it but I don't recommend it for older people who don't have techie skills or don't have patience for poorly trained foreign outsourced csrs. |
