Would you boycott a company who refused offer services to the tech minded people? People that made the internet possible for everone in the first place?
I was a customer for 5 years before canceling. I would come back if Vonage allowed BYOD. I outgrew the whole locked ATA thing. I went to other services that allowed me to use an IP phone directly.
Vonage is missing out on a big segment of the market by not allowing BYOD. Locked ATA's is a dated marketing strategy.
