If you really want to get the word out, you need to get it into SlashDot

ALL the press read that site.

It might take 4-5 different people submiting it, as they are really picky about what articles they post.

Hmmm...as grateful as I am for the coverage, I'm not going to contact Slashdot or any other publication... if they come to me (as thestreet.com and Washington Post did) I will speak with them, but I don't want to turn this into a personal publicity crusade... plus, I cringe at the thought of my story being used against Vonage as a service provider, because as a Vonage customer, I am v. satisfied. And as I Vonage shareholder I can not comment because I maintain that I am not Vonage shareholder. As I've said umpteen times, I was told I was allocated zero shares, so I maintain I own zero shares. Blah blah blah you've all heard it before.. I'll keep you posted as the situation develops.

That is great news Nina!
Make sure to post a link if they run a story on this...

With this kind of attention I think the chances are good that this will eventually be solved to your satisfaction!

Just my 2 cents (or actually 3300 dollars).
I too got the message from the website that I was alloted 0 shares. (If you read the updated story by Jon, I am that Dave) I can forgive a website glitch, but I do not understand why with all the subsequent emails that were sent, Vonage did not make sure we checked the website. It would have been trival for them to see if I had checked after a certain time and sent me a customized mail. While I am certain of my moral case, I am less certain of the legal one. Regardless of their sloppiness, I fulfiled my obligation to UBS , paid up, and sold my shares.

Let me also say that this "current" customer does demand an apology for the errors. Let me also say this is a limited time offer.
While it may hurt the bottom line to spiff me service for a year (or 2 or dare I suggest a decade to make me whole), it will hurt a lot more if I take my money and give it to Speakeasy, Comcast, qwest, ....

To be honest, I do think they will try to make this right. No one wanted this. That being said their crisis management PR is sub par.

I await my email from Vonage. I know they have it.

When it is allocated to your account does not matter

Ok. Now you made it clear where you are confused about what people are saying. They were told that no shares were given to them. At that point they accepted that and moved on only to later find out that vonageipo.com made a mistake.

At what point would it be reasonable to believe you don't have any shares allocated? Should the folks (like me) that login today to check their account and see 0 shares allocated keep checking every three minutes? At some point you have to believe that when vonageipo.com says you don't have any shares, you don't have any shares. A reasonable person would make that determination at the point when the website changes from saying that shares are unallocated to the point that you have been allocated 0 shares.

libbyloo, if you are just trying to get a rise out of people please don't keep doing it. I've read your other posts and you seem pretty smart. Nobody has a problem with the gist of what your saying but that it is not in the right context of the complaint. I asked for 100 shares and was allocated 0, but I'm probably the most vocal because there is a valid complaint. Take a step back and try to see what the discussion is really about.

Here's the problem. They hadn't finished the allocations when you checked your account. Please read the entire web page next time. You have no one to blame but yourself. Be a man and accept responsibility for your mistake.

Funny, I read that article and thought "what a fool that person is". I even emailed the author of the article to let him know what really happened. What really happened is that everyone's account said "0 shares allocated" until they were actually allocated! Your lack of attention does not make it their fault. And for the guy who "couldn't sell his stock for hours". Why not? Shouldn't you have looked into how to sell it BEFORE the stock started trading. I got shares in the IPO, and I sold them IMMEDIATELY after it started trading. You people that are complaining really are pathetic...

FYI, for those who have been affected by this apparent technological snafu in allocations, the company that produces the bookrunning software is i-Deal LLC.

www.i-deal.com

I believe I saw some incorrect information regarding the company name and its web site in earlier posts.

Good night and good luck.

That is not a correct statement. My account showed something like "please check back later" followed by "700 shares allocated". It never showed "0 shares allocated"
