The truth hurts, isn't it??
Yes it DOES.
Of course it hurts for every single investor who lost money on Vonage, but that is not the point of this thread.
It seems a small sub-group of those who lost money on Vonage did so without the knowledge that they had Vonage stock. If this happened because they failed to check their allocation prior to Vonage commencing trading, then they would naturally be to blame.
However, if they did everything they could be reasonably expected to do to check their allocation, then I do not think it is right to hold them accountable for not knowing that the company maintaining the vonageipo.com website failed to upheld its end of the bargain.

Alright.. I have caused enough of stir. I am out of this thread. It's just people seem to blame VG for losing money. Other than a few, people just don't seem to see that ultomately it is yourselves asked for shares. If you did not think VG is a "hot stock" and did not ask for shares, there wouldn't be this mess, would there?
I have been on the losing end of the stock market games plenty of times. It's just that no matter what kind of excuses I could come up with, in the end it was me pulled the trigger to buy and sell. No one held a gun on my head to do anything. Just think about that logic if you feel so deeply victimized.
No hard feelings, good luck everyone. Hope you will take this unfortunate event in stride and be a well learned lesson for the future.

Ouch. I read this email string and thought to myself. Uh Oh. My original allocation (requested 700 received 0). I had talked to my sister that day and she was so excited that she received 300 and so sad that I had recieved 0. Sure enough, I logged in today and I have 200 share allocated. WHAT THE HECK???? I will call Smith Barney on Tuesday...
Anybody have a fax number or e-mail address for SB?
For some unknown reason, I would like to keep things in writing from now on.

Thanks. I feel pretty confident that in the end things will fare in my favor. I whole-heartedly believe the facts are on my side. We'll see. I appreciate your support, and for those who hold opposing points of view, I appreciate your opinion. But I do believe I am on the right side of this issue, and I intend to see this thing through on out to the end.

That is great news Nina!
I certainly think media attention will improve the chances of a positive resolution for those affected by this error - I wish you and everyone else affected by this the best of luck!

Post subject: SB called today
First, nice job Nina. I tried a few of the financial sites with no luck. I'm glad one of us got through to get the story out.
Anyway, SB's "Mike" called me back today to touch base. (Interesting because when I talked to SB on Friday, while they were berating me they denied that Mike existed.) So Mike goes on to say they're still tracking the issue and that he is aware of other users with the same issue. Finally, he said SB has given a few days more to get payment in because of the "technical problems."
So, investigation ongoing, they made a small concession, and Nina got a story into the media.
