I am currently using a Uniden TRU8866 and I have not had any issues with this phone. Of course I have both lines connected to my
Vonage
adapter so my setup is a little different.

my wife switched the phone so that it is using line 1 on
Vonage
instead of 2, which i had setup. It seems to be working now. I think I may return the phone if I have any more problems.

Post subject: A Good 2-Line Phone ...
If you are looking for an inexpensive, corded, 2-line phone that doesn't require AC power to drive the Called ID unit, you may want to try the General Electric 2-Line Speakerphone.
I picked up one of these phones from RadioShack on Friday afternoon. I was skeptical because though it doesn't have an answering machine, I saw no reference to the phone providing a "message waiting" indication from voicemail systems.
However, I was presently surprised when I saw the LCD panel displaying "MESSAGE WAITING" after I received a voicemail message. It, of course, has Caller ID as well, though it is battery operated.
It was important to me to have a phone that doesn't require AC power because I have installed my cablemodem and phone adapter near the network interface in my basement. I have supplied UPS power to this equipment to maintain access to public data services in the event of a power failure in my home. Therefore, I wanted a phone that can function as an office phone without the need for AC power.
It appears that most people these days rely on the convenience of cordless phones, and will not be interested in this option. However, for the one other guy (or gal) that is, let's say, conventional (or weird) like me, this phone (or one like it) may be a good option.

I am currently having a problem with
Vonage
o the Uniden TRU8866 phone. i have one line connected to a standard land phone line and the other connected to the
Vonage
linksys router. The
Vonage
line will have a dial tone for maybe up to 10 calls, then i will hear what sounds like a busy signal, then i don't get any dial tone at all.
when I use a standard phone connected to the router, I don't have this problem.
I like the Uniden phone and has all the features that i need, except for working well with
Vonage
.
anyone else have this problem?
Yes , after 8 months of good service my TRU8866 quit working with my
Voip
service (Broadvoice). My SBC land line still works great.I swapped jacks and still the same problem.I get a dial tone then after I dial, the dial tone comes back. After reading your post I,m thinking maybe there is something about
Voip
that these phones do not like.I like the phone also,I hope to find fix real soon since warranty is almost up.

I'm needing to get a two line phone with
Vonage
and was wondering if anyone has recommendations. With a wireless network in the office I ideally would like a cordless 5.8Ghz phone...
I own a 2 line Uniden EXS9660 (900 Mhz Digital Spectrum Spread) 2 line with rechargeable battery backup.
I know you said 5.8 Ghz (haven't tried it) but I find the 900 DSS superior to a 2.4 Ghz as they provide better distance.
It doesn't have a cordless headset either but it does have a headset jack.
The advantage of the rechargeable battery is it:
1.can be swapped with the handset battery if it needs recharging
2. works in a power power failure
P.S. I purchased the above at a store that sells reburbished phones a few years ago and yes I use it with POTS and a Grandstream
Voip
ATA, my recommendations were based on 900 DSS Mhz and a cordless with battery backup instead of 5.8 Mhz or a phone that will die in a power failure.
Some individuals experience problems mixing Cordless phones with Wireless 802.11b/g routers.

I have the TRU8866 as well and absolutely love it. No problems to date and I am running two lines through the RT31P2.
