I have been waitig 3 months for my number change, LOA was recieved in the middle of February and still nothing. Does everyone have this problem. This service has been useless to me, they market to get rid of bell and go VoIP, however how can we if they do not allow us to. Sure, I get a temp number to use, however I have had my number for over 10 years, for me to change my number would cause dissatifaction to all of my friends and family, which is not fair to anyone. Does anyone here know who I can complain to, the CSR will not escalate pass their supervisors? |

No.....there is no one.......you are stuck.....and you can NEVER get your money back..and you can't get any credits either (I hald for over an hour - no one picked up the line)....and you can't litigate them either (read the agreement that you agreed to). You are going to be held captive until they figure out what they're doing. |

Please contact the BBB & let them know of the problem you are having with VONAGE. I had the same problem, & after several months of not getting any answers from VONAGE, I got pissed off & canceled my service with them. I was then charged $120 to cancel. I have been in contact with the BBB several times, but if more people contact them maybe Vonage will get the hint.
I am also in the preliminary stages of getting together a lawsuit against Vonage. I believe they have a business practice of stealing there customers money until they get so pissed off that they cancel then they steal a last $120 from them. |

ideally, it should only take a maximum of 20 days to get ur number ported over. what possibly could had transpired was you failed to fill out your loa form and when this isnt filled out within 30 days, it automatically cancels out. what i could suggest is you contact customer care and ask for your LOA ID and the number for 3PV and try to contact the 3rd party verification |

Call Call and Call. Took me 3 months with loosing incoming calls from my old number for almost 1 and 1/2 moth of that.
Demand to speak to the escalation dept and the porting dept. Do not take no as an answer. If the rep you are talking to won't do it call back and speak with someone else.
Keep a log of when you called and who you talked to. My log is long I even e-mailed it to them.
I am now fighting to get my number back and switched to another service and they are making up excuses why they can't do that.
Read my story here.

UPDATE AUG 10TH
Vonage has finally released my number to SunRocket. Now comes the fun of trying to cancel my Vonage account. |

Try filing a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission it can be done online at http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cib/fcc475.cfm . They are suppose to be enforcing the number portability laws. If you don't hear back from them, send letters to your federal congress person and senator. State public utility commissions are also sometimes helpful. |

Still unable to port away from Vonage.
Vonage says:
In response to your inquiry, when requesting for your number to be
ported out of Vonage services, please advise your carrier to submit a
LSR request to our 3rd Party Provider. If this request has already
been made then your carrier will need to contact our 3rd party provider
in order to obtain a status.
If your carrier has any questions in regards to the port process,
please have them email us at portouts@vonage.com
Sincerely,
LNP Department
So far the problem is Vonage or their 3rd party have changed the customer information associated with my number neither of them are willing to tell me the proper information so that a correct transfer request can be sent.
So it seems I either keep Vonage or loose my number. It isn't going to happen. Filed Complaints with FCC and BBB today.
July 9th
Add Michigan Attorney Generals Office to the list.
A letter has also been sent to Vonages 3rd party Broadwing informing them if they still refuse to correct or give out the information they will have complaints filed against them as well.
I am starting to feel like the guy from Falling Down.
