I had a power outage yesterday for about 30 minutes that shut down my network and then rebooted it causing all of the IPs to get reassigned. I have 2 wired PCs, one wireless laptop and my phone adapter hooked into my router. Now I'm getting choppy audio to and from my phone. I used to have my phone adapter's IP setup in the DMZ of the router. I would/will do that again but the phone adapter is not showing up in the network table under 'Status > DHCP Client Table (button)'. I've tried unplugging the cable modem and then each router then waiting about 30 seconds then plugging in the modem, then the main router and then the phone adapter. Anybody have any ideas? |

Um, no, lower number is not better. Post us the detailed results here, just copy and paste them. Recheck the settings on the phone adapter, and make sure things like DCHP are not enabled, since I'm sure your other router does that for you. It may have dumped it's settings, but it may be fried. Ya never know. |

I'm sure you realize that your test results are the absolute pits. I'd begin troubleshooting by plugging the computer directly into the modem. Similar results, then you have an ISP issue (which includes the modem). If things are much better, then one of your pieces of gear is having a problem. Bring things on line one at a time, testing each time, until you find out where the problem is starting. |

Likely you have a static IP address set up on the phone adapter. If you had it set to the DMZ of your router, that would make sence. It would be pretty dumb to have it set up to get an IP address automaticlly and be in the DMZ since each time the DHCP lease expired a new IP would probablly be handed out.
That said, if you did set a static IP address on the phone adapter, that could explain the low test results IF the phone adapter's IP address was set in the range that the router's DHCP server hands out and there are two things on your network with the same IP address. Connect a computer directly to the phone adapter, check its IP address and if static, make sure its not in the other router's DHCP server range.
As a side note, you should not need to put the phone adapter in the router's DMZ. The DMZ does NOT drop the firewall for the set IP address, it just forwards all unrequested inbound data to that IP address. |

Is your laptop set up to get its IP dynamically? Is it able to access the internet when you have it plugged into the adapter? |

I know with my RT31P2 whenever the power goes out I have to unplug the power from the back and plug it back in. If I dont powercycle it I cannot receive or place calls |
