I get the dial tone, I make the call, and it goes dead. I cannot hear any ringing or voice pickup on the other side, but the call is going thru because the receiver receives the call! I do not know the call has gone thru because I hear no one or no ringing. Has anyone had this problem? It is ocurring alot now. Ver frustrating. Vonage Tech suppt is clueless. |

I'm having the same exact problem! The interesting thing is that I have both the Cisco ATA186, and the Motorola VT1005, and only the Motorola seems to have the issue. The Cisco is perfect.
What's the deal!? I've been emailing back and forth with a Vonage tech, and he's thinking it could be a problem with the VT1005.
Any thoughts? |

As Moto asked, are you guys using a router in front of your Moto boxes? This almost sounds like all the ports aren't getting through, particularly the 10,000+ port numbers. If you are using routers, try putting the Moto boxes onto static IPs and forwarding the ports to them. |

thanks for the responses. I am in an office, and we have a server, we are thru a DSL line. Can the Moto box be re-setup? Has anyone else had problem and resolution. Today it is OK, yesterday it was terrible. |

It may be a few things.
First, go to your account page on vonage.com and change to a less demanding audio quality. Calls will still sound fine but you won't need so much bandwidth (that may be a problem).
Next, talk to your system administrator if possible. See if he can do the following: 1. Have your Moto box assigned a static IP based on its MAC. Most routers can do this. 2. Forward the Vonage port list to that IP address he assigned it in step 1.
This should ensure that your box is able to communicate with its servers. |
