USA Vonage customers can now dial the UK without paying extra charges. However I do need the area code for any UK number to be dialed. I'm having trouble understanding the proper area code. For example, I wish to dial numbers in the greater London area that, from here in the USA, I dial as 011 44 20.... (Bushey Heath).
Searching the web leads me to believe I might dial 44 20...
I would appreciate help with understanding UK area codes.

I dial the Apple Store in London on Regent Street for kicks just to test it out and was billed $1.02 + .03 tax for 2 minutes at .51 for minute. I thought it was free so I sent Vonage an email and will wait a reply... So no not all calls are free....

Now with our Unlimited plans, calling to Europe with Vonage isn't international, it's local. By waiving international fees to Italy, France, Spain, UK and Ireland, Vonage treats calls to these countries just like traditional local calls throughout the US. So calls to Paris cost the same as calls to your neighbor down the street - nothing!

England, being a densly populated country, has many area codes, (basic ones can be found at the link below). The best way to find an area code is to look up a particular shop's telephone number, or ask a person theirs, because there are so many. If the first number of the area code you're given is a "0", don't dial it, it's not necessary.
