That's what it says in the Learning Center of
Vonage
.com about my router. Should I do it anyway? I read that the phones might not ring unless the ports are forwarded.

You should not have to reconfigure your router for
Vonage
to work. It should indeed be plug n' play.

I have a Netgear RP614. It worked perfectly out of the box once I did the standard network setup stuff. No need for port forwarding. I haven't had a problem with
Vonage
since (several weeks now).
