I did not call Jim, I went down to the comcast equipment office and swapped the modem out. If you are leasing you should have no problem getting a new modem. I need to check the brand they gave me but it not a motorola modem.
Did you try taking the router out of the equation to test packet loss. I used Ping Plotter and found a lot of packet loss. Just swap out the modem any modem with probably do as long as your not expericing any packet loss.

Yes, i've tried taking the router out of the equation. Router is not the issue. Modem may/may not be the issue... that's what i'm trying to determine. From reading through this thread, it's more likely a bad line somewhere underground, but who knows!
