I just got a Vonage adapter and connected it BEHIND my Linksys WRT54G because I use a VPN daily. The phone works great and my internet connection still works except when I'm on a call. When on a call, e-mail can't synch, web pages don't load, I can't even ping a server. Any ideas?
After being on a call for a few minutes, I see something similar. Before making the call and for the first few minutes, my pings to google.com take about 85 ms, then after a while they jump to about 800-900 ms, or time out altogether. I can't browse the web at all, but as soon as I hang up, the problem is gone. My phone adapter (MTA or ATA?) is behind a PII linux firewall router and my ISP is Cox Communications.
