Could you hook it up to a phone and try calling it from your cell or voice line to see what features it has?
Thank you!

I called Vonage again and asked to speak with someone who knew what they were talking about. They said that Fax Lines come with Caller ID and that is it.
Is this true?

I want Caller ID for the occasional incoming voice calls and maybe for my fax machine Caller ID display. The other stuff I can live without, but any features that are there are great. Caller ID yes or no?

mini,

I had the dedicated fax line a while back, mine did not have any features such as caller id, ect...

To be 100% sure though try posting your question in the fax, tivo, alarms section. Maybe someone will try there's out and respond....seeing as there is a activation fee that you would not get returned if you signed up for it and discovered there are no features and decided it was not for you.

I also posted it there and no one has replied (?). Someone out there must currently have this service and be willing to give me a yes or no answer.

If I do go ahead and try it, and it doesn't have any features at all, then can I upgrade to the $14.95/m voice plan (which has the features)?

Why would you want to do that when you already have the unlimited plan?

Im positive the dedicated fax line has no extra features otherwise people would opt for that instead of another line..

Additional Lines Price Chart

Residential Plans First Line Each Additional Line
Premium Unlimited Plan $24.99
Basic 500 Plan $14.99

If it is another featured line you want then I guess you would have to go for the $14.99 plan

* a activation fee applies here also mini

"Why would you want to do that when you already have the unlimited plan?"
I need a second line for my fax, credit card machine and some voice calls.
I'd take the fax line if I knew it had Caller ID. I just don't want to get hit with upgrade fees, ect...

gotcha Wink

maybe they have since implemented caller ID to a fax line, but as far as I know it did not have it when I had my dedicated fax line.

OK... After answering your question, I will step away from my laptop and do penance for not answering sooner.

Through Vonage, I have two home phone lines (unlimited calls) and a dedicated fax only line (which happens to also be the only analog line in the house).

My fax machine has a caller ID display and can print out a report of all the numbers I have sent/received faxes to/from. Another nice feature is viewing the activity on my fax line when I check my Vonage account online.

So the answer is "YES", caller ID works on the dedicated fax only line for $9.99/month. Very Happy
