Strange behavior when I call this radio station during times when they are receiving calls and I am pretty sure I can call it and get through at other times.
It could be a contest but it is a call-in show to sell items and many people call in at once and line is busy most of time. On my vonage line when I get it to ring it goes to busy after one ring.
Doubt there is a solution (If it does that when you do that dont do that)
but any ideas why it is happening. I finally used cell phone to get through. |

Are you calling a "toll-free' number? Could be that your exchange (the fourth through sixth digit of your ten digit 'phone number) is recognized as an out of area call. Out of area calls may be blocked by the station.
FWIW: I called a vendor on my my locally registered Vonage line. The vendor provides support during specific hours based upon the calling location. The recording said "call back during business hours." I called on my POTS line and got through.
I'm not sure if incoming calls which are not on a toll-free number can be blocked. |

Another explanation is that the Vonage adapter is generating the ring tone while it's trying to connect the call...then pushes the call through and that's when you hear the busy signal. I've seen my adapter do this before, also seen it do something similar when calling international #'s and I'll hear a US-style ringtone first, then the Euro ringtone. |

This happens to me every time I make a call...especially when I call people's cell phone's when the phone is off. From a regular phone it wouldn't ring at all and just go to VM. On the VOIP line it rings for a half second, and then keeps ringing for another second while the VM message starts playing |

bg4, for my wife's work number, I had to start using 11-digits, not seven digits, due to the CLEC that I go out of does not recognize her number for some reason as 7-digits. |
