I don't know how technically adept you are, but series 1 TIVO's are relatively easy to modify to eliminate these daily calls altogether (among other things).
I have read up on changing the Tivo. At the moment my Tivo has not been able to make the calls. I will be upgrading it with a larger hard drive and such later this summer.
In the mean time I need to get the Tivo back up and running. Is there an adapter from the Vonage to the old phone line? Hooking the Vonage up to my old phone lines would also let me use my old phones as well as the cordless Vonages phone.
Is there an adapter or do I need a different Vonage base unit?
