I have a FIOS internet connection that works great and have tried that "test your Voip" site and it comes back fine. There is plenty of bandwidth.

I have the unit hooked into my computer via a crossover cable, and then through the Internet Connection Sharing wizard in XP, I have set the wired connection to share through the wireless-- which is my FIOS.

If I pick up the phone, I get dial tone no problem, but the problem light is blinking and when I dial a number it goes to busy signal after about 10 second of silence.

Any ideas? Sometimes after the wired connection is enabled through network connections in control panel (the Voip) my wireless connection stops working. Seems like its an IP conflict? I don't know. Been trying to get this to work for a long time now and still nothing.

Didnt you FIOS come with a router?

Why not hook a regular cable from Vonage adaptor to FIOS supplied router. Usingh that connection sharing crossover thing may not be to the adaptors liking.

Darwin, please post the technical details listed in the sticky post at the top of the forum. In general, you shouldn't have the Vonage unit hooked into your computer; it should be hooked into your modem.

I need it to be hooked into the computer, as I don't have wired access to the modem and have no AP.

The computer has plenty of bandwidth to handle it and plenty of other people have set theirs up this way. It's not a Vonage unit so I haven't entered the technical specs because I figured it'd get locked or something.

When you do Start/Run/cmd/ "ipconfig /all" what is the resultant ip list? The service you have is not Vonage? There must be a method of interface (lan or telephone like the pap2) with whatever adapter whatever company sent you.
