I already have Voip hardware, and I want to sign up for an account. But I suddenly got the notion to ask.... I will get the SIP auth information when I sign up, right? I don't have to use the ATA186 supplied by Vonage, right? Because I stay up nights playing with Quicknet Internet PhoneJack cards and a Linux-based telephony package called, "asterisk."
Basically, I want to test out the Vonage service with asterisk, but I want to make sure I can use the account information without the Cisco hardware, if I choose. I'm not expecting this to be a "supported configuration," I just want to try it out. If it doesn't work, well, no problem for anybody except me. If it does work, well, cool, I just did an amazing job of systems integration that I can add to my resume  |

email /call/contact Vonage and ask Simple as that 
1vonagehelp is the number, also check www.vonage.com

Vonage service uses the ATA. They provide it, and you have to use it. They will send you the ATA when you sign up, and the configuration on it will be locked down (so that they can make updates remotely). You will not have access to the configuration information in order to find out the data needed to set up different Voip hardware. |
