I hate to break it to you guys, but the landline phone cos have been SELLING your call records for a few years now. I know for a fact that Verizon does this, not sure about the others.

I'm not too worried about Vonage giving this info to the NSA. They can't even keep track of their own adapter MAC addresses, let alone all of the phone calls we make.

If you have nothing to hide I'll give you a site where you can post all your Credit Card numbers, Social Security number and passwords!

It is not a case of nothing to hide but a freedom from being spied on by our own government. Maybe you trust everyone in government not to misuse your personal information, but I can think of many in the current administration that I would rather see in prison than in a position of leadership. Come to think of it some of them are well on their way already. Evil or Very Mad

So where is the NSA gathering credit card numbers, social security numbers and passwords? They are looking a phone numbers people called?

That's like saying that people who smoke pot will eventually use heroine. You seem to be overly paranoid. I don't trust everyone in government, heck I don't trust everyone at my church. Doesn't mean I won't let them do their job...

I guess since I've worked for the govt so long, that I'm used to giving all kinds of personal information that I just don't care. I don't do drugs, cheat on my taxes, have beers with terrorists, or plot to overthrow them, so I'm really not too worried. I know they are using that data to catch terrorists, and if ANYONE got wind of actual misuse of that data, the govt would be in a world of crap. Get it? I don't care. Protection of the country is more important to me than hiding some stupid phone records. I don't want to see, let alone my kids to ever see, another 9/11 happen. I'm probably biased, since I wore a uniform for a bit, then went right back to the same stuff as a civilian. If I'm too patriotic, too bad. US Flag

If you give them an inch they'll take a mile. Don't give up any of your freedoms or soon we'll be like the old USSR or old Germany. The real terrorists are the ones using FEAR to keep the citizens in line. 9/11 was the greatest lie of the century.

I guess his attitude is correct for a follow the leaders blindly without question mentality that they instill in the military folks. Never question, never think for yourselves. THINK for yourself, it makes the government nervous.

That kind of answer will kill off your freedom in a hurry. The obvious reason you should care is that somewhere down the line the wrong people might be determining what is legal or illegal. Best if you haven't given away too many rights at that point.

Giving up the rights that the Founding Fathers created and many soldiers died for is NOT patriotic and I am sick to death of hearing that it is. Protecting those rights with every bone and drop of blood in your body is what patriotism is all about. A history or civics lesson is highly suggested.

By the way, being a patriot requires a lot more than sticking a flag icon after your post.

And before you make comments like that dickhead, maybe you sure check my username, and my post you quoted. I HAVE served this country overseas, in the line of fire, and came back. To this day I serve as a civilian with the Navy. Before you open your mouth, read what your replying to, idiot.

Touche! Thanks for serving...I appreciate it.

Let's have trust in our government to protect us. If that means making certain records available to them, then so be it! he government has built in checks and balances to assure we protect our freedoms. Let the system work...
