I am not sure if this has been posted before but is there a way to hook up a standard wireless router to the Lilnksys wired router that Vonage provides you when you sign up. I want to go wireless and this seems like it would be cheaper than buying a specific wireless router with phone ports. Anyone with ideas please help.
Thanks |

you can search for a million posts on the subject, go to vonage.com of all places for instructions, or just get one and plug it in. any way you choose will work. and if it doesn't, post back with the problem (after you searched the forum and went to vonage.com for instructions of course). a lot of us set it up the exact same way. |

If your Vonage router uses 192.168.15.1 and it uses 192.168.15.1 thru 192.168.15.49. Set the wireless routing table to start at 192.168.15.50 and plug the internet port into one of the local ports of the wired Vonage router. Set it to obtain IP address automatically. You will be online with all devices. |

Make sure you connect the wireless router to the wired router with a crossover cable, otherwise, it won't work. |

I do not have a crossover cable. I took one port out from the hardwired router and put in directly into the "internet" port of the wireless router. The Wireless router took the IP address assigned by the wired router. Mine works fine. It may vary with individual router vendors. All of mine are Linksys. |
