I emailed support yesterday about a problem with my voicemail. While I was at it, I asked about the problems with my fax and my call waiting situation. I got a GREAT technician who actually solved my fax problem, I think, after almost five months with the Motorola! I'll know for sure later. (See my post in the fax thread).
We're still working on the remaining issues, but this guy is determined. I have not have more than one "beep" for call waiting since the time we went from numbers only to numbers with names on caller ID. He ran a debug and said the line was showing very weird activity. He had me move the MTA behind the router, all sorts of stuff, but it's now been kicked upstairs. The call is still THERE, but you have to just judge in your head when to click over before it goes to voicemail. Am I the only person with this problem or do others have it too? Again, it started for us when we got names with Caller ID, so probably January?
The voicemail weirdness is what prompted my contacting support, though. Starting two weeks ago, my second message, which I use when I occasionally work from home and transfer my office line, disappeared. I went to do a greetings override and it said there was no Message 2. I thought it was odd but just re-recorded it. Well, yesterday it was the same thing. That's when I decided to email them because this was definitely something new. The primary greeting sticks, but it was gone twice in two weeks. I checked and it's there today, though. If I have to lose a message, I'm glad it's not my primary one. That's been solid since we started the service last year.
