1. MI 2. Charter Cable 3. 27mb/s? 4. I'm not sure, AMBIT? 60194E-A02 5. N/A 6. N/A 7. I want to signup to Vonage and need to know if my modem is compatible? I can't figure this out LOL. Sorry, I know nothing about this. What do you recommend I do? 8. It's likely that your modem is compatible, but I'm concerned with the high percentage of packet discards that you're seeing with your Voip test. You might want to discuss that with Charter cable, and also make sure of the speeds that you're getting up and down (27 M sounds very unlikely). Vonage has a speed test. Go there and call up the help menu. The first question under FAQs will take you to the speed test.
My guess at this point is that you would be unhappy with the quality of your Voip service unless your IP can improve those packet discards. |

Here is my speeds, I didn't know what they were LOL. What do you suggest? I 'supposedly' am paying for the highest speed they have.
download speed is 2.37 upload speed is 502kbps |

Those speeds look very good. I'm still concerned about the packet discards, though. I'd talk to Charter about that.
If you're adventurous and would like to give Vonage a try, I say go for it. However, if you're fond of your current phone numer, I wouldn't initiate a transfer until you've got Vonage up and running and are satified with the service. Then you can get your number transferred and cancel your existing service. |

I don't hear much about the Ambit modems, but what I do hear isn't positive... Maybe you can get them to change it out for something a bit better (like a Motorola Surfboard modem). |
