I dont want to lose the phone everytime the power goes out so I'm looking for a UPS. I'm not going to be keeping anything big on it (modem, router, switch, and Moto VT1000). I would like it to keep everything up and running for a good amount of time.
Any suggestions? |

I'm using a Belkin F6C800-UNV. I run my computer, monitor, phone, MTA
off of the UPS side. I have tested it to 20 Mins. It comes with software monitoring software, and the UPS can be hooked up to the computer with USB or RS232. I use the RS232 port because nothing is going to be hooked up to that interface and it works great.
This UPS comes with a $500,000 replacement warrenty for any equipment damaged while hooked up to the UPS. |

Well all I'm interested in keeping powered is the modem, router, switch, and the VOIP box. I read on these forums that
"Each of these devices draws significantly less than 1 amp of power. Thus a basic 325VA UPS system that you can purchase for <$50 at any computer or electronics store can power your Vonage phone system for likely 3-4 hours."
and that is around how long I'm hoping to keep things powered. |

Does this one look to be what I need?
It should give me a good amount of time with power considering the very small load I would be giving it.....correct? |

That should be just fine. that will give you at least 2 hours backup for what you want to put on it.
The Bulldog software is great, if you want to use it.
I had to for unattended power failures.
Check around for prices you can most probabily a little cheaper than belkin |

If you are looking at UPS systems you really gotta consider APC. They are the market leader in small UPS systems and offer all of the bells and whistles as the Belkin units. Plus trying to get support for Belkin products is tough. Respond if you want an APC recommendation. |
