Confused That $10.00 fee kinda defeats the purpose intended.. Well now I know every change involves a fee.... Fee to add a feature, Fee to change your phone number...Fee to add a line...Fee to get a fax number....LOL I'm keeping track of my extra lil fees.

My advice to new customers would be know precisely what you want when you place that first initial order..

I just figured the $10 fee as being paid by the first month's savings. We didn't come anywhere near 500 minutes in our first month so I switched down at the beginning of the second month.

I dont think in the 1 year 5 mos I have had Vonage I have went over 500 mins. I think I may downgrade. No point in paying 10 extra a month.

It's amazing how difficult it really is to rack up more tan 500 minutes in calls!

Even if you go over 500 on a rare occasion, it is still cheaper paying the extra minute fee. And that's 500 minutes in outgoing calls.

As far as defeating the purpose. I guess if I had to spend $10 once to save $120 per year, I'd be all over that purpose. Actually, I think I'm spending about $28 a month to save some $300 a year.

And actually, 500 isn't the breakpoint you should be looking at. Since the additional minutes cost $.039 each, if you use 756 minutes, your bill will be $24.97 before taxes, for a savings of 2 cents. At 757 minutes, you're starting to pay more than the unlimited price.

The savings do add up....... hmmm Think I will use the Vonage Activity Application and get my minutes usage per month.. If I find I'm near or below 500 minutes every month I will make the switch down. Would be worth the ten bucks.
