I disabled the ASD Blocker in Mozilla. Tried Boston and Montreal, neither call could be completed. Tried the same thing with Internet Explorer, same results. |

I'd tracert and see if you have a routing issue through your isp. Especially if nothing still works.
The testmyvoip results are popular for troubleshooting.
You could try the speedtest for this site:

That might be a good start for clues |

I tried the Vonage Speed Test. Download is 1.6 MB, upload is 147 KB. QOS was only 55%,RTT=4 ms, MaxPause= 724 ms. The text said I had enough bandwidth for one Voip connection. This is at 11PM, when there shouldn't be much cable use in the neighborhood |

Not much time to think this through right now, but here's a couple quick thoughts.
Those numbers are iffy at best. On the high codec, Vonage requires some 90KB each direction. You don't have alot of room to spare on your upload.
QOS and MaxPause are lower than desired. Alone, they are probably acceptable. Together, they kind of compound things.
Two quick thoughts at this time.
Have you altered your bandwidth settings? Try it on 50 for a while and see if it gets any better. If you're on 90 with your results, I'd expect some dropped calls.
You might try some tweaking. I'd run some tweak tests at http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks
I might be ahead of the game here. You better post your setup configuration. Do you have a router? |

I'm running a SURFBoard SB3100 cable modem to the LinkSys RTP 300, which feeds my Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMMO router. My Dell desktop is plugged in to the Belkin, and I run my HP laptop off the wrieless LAN from the Belkin. I should tell you that I'm having problems getting the two computers to talk to one another and I have a GeekSquad guy coming out tomorrow to resolve that issue. If he changes my setup, the Vonage issue may change as well. Thanks for all your time- I'll be back on the Forum if I still have problems. |

I had some similar issues with the RT31P2 and the PAP2 in regards to stability. I also use a Belkin wireless router and it was the cause of the stability issue. I resloved this by disabling the firewall and DMZ and then used MAC address filtering for all computer/adapters . No stabilitiy issues in months.
Now, your speed test my be blocked by any antivirus/spyware. You'll need to access the admin. portion and manually type in the ip address to allow your system to connect.
This may help a little. |

For anyone following this thread, I'm posting what appears to be the final solution. I got the Charter lead tech, and he finally provided a second modem. It was hooked up off a splitter from my system, and I watched later as my system went down and the test modem was fine. This happened during both Voip calling and internet use. Charter concluded that the first new modem they had given me was bad and we switched to the test modem. Everything has been working perfectly since then. Thsnks to all that offered assistance. |
