I don't suppose there is any way one can listen live to a voicemail as it is being recorded? One thing we miss using voicemail over answering machine is that ability (call-screening). |

not that I'm aware of. this problem is somewhat offset by caller id, if you have a phone that supports it. |

Well, hook up your answering machine. |

If you hook up your own answering machine, just remember to go online and turn off Vonage voice mail. |

It's comical when I listen to my messages and hear a caller say
"Pick up if you're there, this is, so and so, pick up if you're there."
As if he thinks I can actually hear the voice mail live. |

- voice mail will pick up if you ignore call waiting

Log onto your account at vonage.com, select "Features," then click on "configure" under "voicemail settings." Under "enable/disable voicemail" you can select how many seconds before voicemail kicks in, from instant to 50 seconds. |
