Called today to cancel service (didn't use it anymore) and the number they list on their site to call and cancel won't get you there. You need to call 800-860-5491.
Called that number and they have average hold times of 25 minutes plus.
Isn't it Convenient that you can sign up online without talking to anyone, but when it comes to cancelling, they make you jump through hoops?

That's generally the case with anything, not just Vonage. It's a lot easier to sign up for something that it is to cancel anything. Have you ever tried to cancel AOL?
"They" generally want you to talk to someone who will try to offer you some free time to resell you on their service. Go figure, they're trying to turn a profit! |

Why is that although this site has a disclaimer that states
" This Site is exclusively owned & operated by 4Sight Media LLC & is no way endorsed, sponsored, provided, owned or otherwise controlled by Vonage. For official information on Vonage Services please proceed to the Vonage website at: www.vonage.com"
that if you dare to offer any criticism of Vonage your post seems to get deleted at light speed? seems to smack of censorship! |

actually it's extremely fair. you can pretty much whine and moan as long as you are genuinely seeking assistance, and not just whining and moaning. personally I would delete far more posts. dan is very fair with his rules. |

Thanks Reebok. Displeased did not have to ask that question. He learned the rules after I removed his "VonSux" username and has had the rules; much like you just stated, explained to him personally.
The bottom line is this (not directed at you Reebok): What sets this site apart from most others is not having to weed through dozens of useless "Vonage ****" post in order to find some real assistance. In a nut shell, thats it.
I will not comment in this thread again. |

My understanding is that you only have to send them a note through their Contact Us page to initiate a cancel order...
Don't know if they contact you directly, I would hope they do, but it seems like it should be painless...lets hope I never need to find out! |

The replacement adapter they supposedly sent got "lost" so I had to cancel service today, and there are some hoops. The "Contact Us" page doesn't sent a note, it only responds with a page showing a number to call. When you call that number, you have to negotiate a bunch of telephone menus then wait on hold to get to a person. They were very polite and did not try to argue my decision, especially after they looked at all the trouble I've had (I think they can see my technical support history). I cancelled within the 30-day limit (and mailed a written notice, just in case), but I see that I am still going to have to press them for the money back part of their 30-day money back guarantee. |

xnewuser,
I would love to hear the entire cancel story -- assuming it ever completes. Do come back and tell us... |

Not to Mention the user name with the account (criticism) is not allowed to post ever vonage-forum. if this website is no part of Vonage, then it should not exist. they could be sued for copyright infringement. (using vonages name) |
