When will Vonage start to transfer in 828 area code?

Can anyone tell me who to contact to find out when they will start to transfer numbers In area code 828 in NC? If I phone sales all they want to do is sign me up and give me a new number, which I don't want.

I have been waiting here in Eastern Carolina for area code 252 since Feb 2005 with no relief in sight. Strange though Road Runner and Bell South offer number transfer here. LOL

I have a double problem in the 828 Area Code because the county that I live in has locally owned phone company, so all calls outside this county are long distance. I have 2 land lines because before DSL, I needed an extra line for the internet. I have not changed to Vonage yet and am having second thoughts. I purchased a Linlsys WRT54GP2 Router but appears I will have to take it with me to use Vonage Service when traveling. I am not new to Voip, because about 4 years ago I purchased a Linksys server with a phone jack to use Net2Phone on regular phone. Net2Phone also provides a reduced rate calling cared to use when away from home and bill is determined by actual use. From what I see now the only big difference is not receiving calls. To be fair to local phone company my second line only cost $12.00 a month, but same man owns Internet Service, and cable service word is that the big companies did not want to invest in this small WNC county which is very mountainous area.
