I am already a customer but want to port another number that I have to vonage as a virtual number. Can I do this? If so, how do I?? |

you might be able to transfer it as a second regular number, then convert it to a virtual number later. you can't do it directly. |

Huh. I always thought there was a feature to LNP a number as a virtual. That's been the basis for my recommendation for new customers who want to port over their number (sign up for an account, then transfer your number over later).
Well, don't I feel like an idiot now...
I have to imagine they would offer it... but it might take a call to Customer Service. |

Hmm, when I try to order there is no LNP choice. I will call and report back. |

I could be wrong. I'm basing it off of what other people have said. here are a couple of posts I found.

transferring your number over later isn't the same as porting it as a virtual number though. |

AHA! That was it. It's the "Change your phone number" feature under "Billing"!
I thought there was a way to do it, I just was looking in the wrong place (Add a Virtual Number) rather than thinking about the "Change your number" feature.
The "Change your number" feature allows you to port over a LNP number, and either keep your existing Vonage number as a Virtual Number (for $5 a month), or "destroy" the Vonage number when the LNP completes.
There is a $10 one-time fee for this service. |
