NEW! Free Calls to Europe

Included with Unlimited Plans

Now with our Unlimited plans, calling to Europe with Vonage isn't international, it's local. We've added millions of more people to your local calling plan for free. By waiving international fees to Italy, France, Spain, UK and Ireland, Vonage treats calls to these countries just like traditional local calls throughout the US. So calls to Paris cost the same as calls to your neighbor down the street - nothing!
Calling is Easy

Dialing to Europe is easy. There are no special access numbers to dial. So call Europe all you want. With Vonage it's all included, FREE!
Details

Free calls to Europe offer does not apply to calls to cell phone numbers or to special services numbers such as toll-free or caller-paid information services or 900 numbers, and is limited to Italy, France, Spain, UK and Ireland. Valid for Unlimited plans only.

Vonage Unlimited Calling Plan Subscribers Can Now Call France, Italy, Ireland, Spain & the United Kingdom for Free

That's pretty cool. I work with a team in Europe, so maybe I'll surprise them one of these days with a phone call. Wink

I wonder why this is unlimited plans only? I'd think the 500-minute crew could just use their allocation of minutes for European calls just like they do for domestic ones. Wonder what the difference is (trying to get people to pony up the extra $10 a month? - grin)

  1. Isn't it somewhat hyperbolic to say free calling to Europe when calls only include 5 countries?
  2. I think you nailed it on the head Nate. A lot of people like me use mobile phones primarily and have a 500 minute Vonage plan for the house. This perk may move some people back to the unlimited plan, but realistically unless they are covering the premium numbers it will take almost 200 minutes of European calls to make up that $10 difference.

I figured out how to dial that number in the UK. I said I had the wrong number and cheerio. I was charged 0.28 for a one minute call. What a ripoff. I have the unlimited plan too.

It seems silly to me to say free calls to Europe but not all of Europe. Is this the start to make all of Europe free? I was very excited until I saw it did not include Germany..... still hoping then.

Maybe this doesn't affect the rest of you, but unlimited calls to the UK & Ireland are a huge attraction to me. I'm glad to see Vonage is finally starting to become a bit more competitive, especially now that the choices in VoIP are growing (and improving). I wonder why Vonage hasn't updated their website to reflect this yet -- This is a major marketing point.
