Having started in the last few days, incoming mobile phone calls are chopped up, and it is very difficult to hear what the callers say.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been getting this also, but for all incoming calls. When it first started about a week ago, I power-cycled the adapter and it cleared up for a couple days. But it's been back now. |

Today, I had the first similarly chopped up call from a landline phone. I'll call Vonage tomorrow.

We have experienced this same problem. I had finally narrowed down the problem to mostly cell calls (though it happens with some landlines). And today we got a voicemail that was choppy. This leads me to believe that it is not a problem on our end, but somewhere in Vonage-land.
Sound possible?
I should mention that only the message was chopy, not the voicemail prompts.

I am experiencing the same issue. I initially thought it was only while using Limewire to download files. However that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. If anybody calls me the inbound audio is choppy, they can hear me just fine. If I call them back, all is well. |

This is sounding like a fairly common problem that started within the past month. Generally related to inbound calls, and more prevalent with mobile calls.
What's going on?

I checked and in my case, also, no problems when I call. Incoming calls is the problem. |

I talked to Vonage customer support this evening. I explained what I had going. They supposedly changed some settings "on their end" and asked me to reboot the PAP2 device. I am waiting for my brother to call me now to see if anything has changed. |

I just spent some quality (hold) time on Vonage customer support. Like 68rustang, support said they had some "changes" to do on their side, to give them 2 minutes, reboot the adapter, then go to your bandwidth saver settings and change from higher to highest, or highest to higher (just make the change from 90k to 50k or vice versa, supposedly the difference is making a change), and reboot the adapter again.
Did all this, and it seems to be working fine (calling in from my cell phone). I will watch for the next few days and see if this holds.
Incidently, I went out and bought the Hawking Broadband Booster as suggested elsewhere in this forum, but did not see any difference. It could be due to my setup, where I have business service cable, 5mb/1mb, with separate static IP address for my Vonage adapter (and my server that I host, and for outbound traffic); not your normal home setup. |
