Hey Everyone,
I am finally moving into Edmonton so I can attend University. I am going to Europe this summer, and of course I am leaving the most amazing girl alive at home in Northern Alberta. I am not moving into my new place until August, but I thought of ordering Vonage a month before so when I am in Europe, I can phone her.
Now here is my question,
I am going to England, Amsterdam, and France. Will my vonage adapter work over there? or will I need any specialconvertors?
Thanks, |

you're going to need a GOOD voltage convertor..
don't use a cheap one, from what I've read, there have been many problems with overheating..
you may be able to get an adaptor that runs on 220V and puts out the correct Voltage and correct MilliAmps and correct POLARITY for your Vonage ATA.. |

Hi:
You may want to try getting a phone adaptor that does both 110/220v (the Vonage US web site says the Motorola & Cisco ones support both).
In Feb I took my Linksys router & a phone with me to Paris (from Edmonton) and had intermittent problems with my power converter (& it was a good one) Fortunately I had an extension cord & was staying in a hotel that had a 110v outlet in the bathroom (for tourists razors), so I plugged it in there and it worked fine but that onption may not be available everywhere you go.
Additionally, I've found high speed internet connections to be fairly expensive in Europe (albeit my experience is based upon what the hotels charge vs what hotels in Canada/US charge), so if the only reason you'd get a high speed connection was for Vonage calls, a international calling card may be much cheaper & more convienent.
Hope this helps,

Motorola VT2442
I am going to be buying this one, for my Vonage Adapter. I cannot find anything except on the Motorola site where it said, 12 VDC for power.
Will this work for Europe, and I am staying with some very distant family, and they have high speed, so thats a breeze. I just want to make sure this works.
Thanks
