does my computer have to be on? I go out of town quite often but I'd still like to transfer my calls to my cell. Also what if my DSL box is off will it still route the calls to my call forward number or will it just go to voicemail? Thanks so much! |

Yes, even if your DSL box is turned off, it will still forward to the number you have in call forwarding. If you have no call forwarding number set, it will forward to your Network Availability Number, if you have it set up.

Hi:
The 1 quirk I've found is that if you have no "Network Availability Number" set it goes to voice mail, are using SimulRing & your connection is down it goes to voice mail too quickly (before I can answer the SimulRing ringing phone).
Likely not as big of an issue with my DSL connection, as would rarely (hopefully never) have the DSL connection down (& have a "Network Availability Number" set for it anyway).
But for my Vonage SoftPhone when I'm working at an alternate location, I have SimulRing set for my cellular & the land line at that desk (& no "Network Availability Number" set for the SoftPhone, as its disconnected frequently & typically when disconnected it would ring to a phone no where near me anyway). So if I have the SoftPhone running on my PC & a call comes in I can pick it up on the landline or my cellular (which ever is handiest) but if the SoftPhone NOT running on my PC voicemail picks up before I can answer a SimulRing line.
