We are coming to a era where many business will find legacy PBXs too restrictive and will instead choose to use carriers such as Vonage for their PBX needs.

Voip carriers offer legacy PBX features such as call transfer, call forwarding to voicemail, etc. VoIPs offer additional features PBX's can't offer like real off-premise extension portablility.

The only thing they don't have that legacy PBXs do are call reporting features. VoIPs have call logs and that's it.

However, there is one company that i know of that can offer call tracking/reporting for a Voip carrier's customers. Cool

Nope, Vonage doesn't support anything like this, and it appears that they decided that they won't for some time.

I'd suggest taking a look at the Asterisk communities, as they have plenty of experience in this area. I already have 2 clients who will be bringing Asterisk-based PBXs online this year. Goodbye NEC and proprietary parts... I don't think I'll miss them.
