I recently obtained Vonage and I installed it in front of my PC. My PC also runs a personal webserver. I tried adding port 80 to the "virtual servers" on the MTA pointing it to the right IP, but that still doesn't allow me to get into the web server. I have a Motoral MTA. I used Shields Up! and it shows that my port 80 is open. But when I telnet to port 80 on the MTA's IP nothing happens (also when I try to open the website). Is there anything I can do? Should I just get a router and put the MTA behind the router?
I've never tried a web server behind the MTA, but yeah, I'd just stick it behind a router and not mess with it. Mine's behind one and it seems happy enough.
