Since yesterday, I can't make any outgoing calls with Vonage. Apparently can receive them (though the quality didn't seem great). When I go to dial, I get a dial tone, but every number comes back with a fast busy (and the phone light on router goes from solid to blinking).

I've got Charter Cable, with the cable going to Motorola Surfboard SB5100 modem, then to Linksys RT31P2, then to computer and Netgear wireless router.

Oddly enough (since I can't make calls) I got a decent score on testyourvoip.

I've rebooted countless times over the last 18 hours or so, no luck. Don't have another phone to use to call Vonage (if that would even do any good). Any advice? Please?

did something happen yesterday?
the phone light on the router always blinks when the phone is in use. you just didn't notice it before. and on the rtp300/wrtp54g is has a slow blink when you have voicemails waiting.
can you dial voicemail? I would try dialing very slowly and keeping the keys pressed down for a full second if not more.

If you figure out why this is happening, please let me know. I would like to see if I can add this "feature" to my mother-in-law's phone... Twisted Evil

Well, now the phone is back ... occasionally. Sometimes calls come in, most go straight to voicemail. When we try to check voicemail, or make an outgoing call, usually we get a fast busy signal, but if we keep trying (5, 6, 7 times) then we manage to get a call through.

Very frustrating, especially for my wife, who is trying to communicate with her sick father in the hospital.

Any advice?
