Post subject: LNP 3 months and waiting - Voip calls go through to Vonage!
My LOA went through on January 28th 2006 (according to the
Vonage
web site). I am still waiting for the transfer to happen.
MCI say they have not received it,
Vonage
say they are checking.
Vonage
never get back to me, I have to call them all the time. Each time they say they will raise a ticket.
Interestingly, the
Vonage
phone rings sometime. I found out it is people that are using
Voip
. My number is ported on the Internet!
Maybe it is time to look for another
Voip
provider, definitely not MCI (funny, the spell checker gives me "MACE" as an alternative to MCI)
Thanks for listening. I feel a bit better now

The phone rings because
Vonage
routes their calls internally first, then if it can't route the call it goes out to the network at large, much like if you dialed an extension on your pbx as opposed to dialing a number outside your pbx(telephone system)
