I have a LinkSys WCG200 which is a combination Cable Modem, Router and Wireless Access Point all in one. My plan is to attach the Vonage box (Router - Moto VT2442) to a wired port on the WCG200. The WCG200 will assign an IP address to the Vonage box. Like this...
Comcast Cable --- WCG200 -- VT2442 -- Phones
There are 4 other devices (PC's & Network printers) and I use the wireless connection for a laptop or two. Anyone have experience with this -- good or bad? |

I don't, but it ought to work. If you can set QoS in the modem/router to favor the Vonage box, you should do that. |

I switched to the Linksys WCG200 a couple weeks back. I am not a computer/VoIP expert, but here is what I can tell you. I run a CAT5 cable from my WCG200 LAN to my Linksys Vonage router (RT31P2-VD) WAN connection. I also run a CAT5 cable from my WCG200 LAN to my desktop PC. Everything works fine. I have a laptop that I am able to use on a home network and access the internet, print to my deskjet, that is wired to my local desktop, share files, etc. no problems. The phone has worked fine too. |

For what it's worth, I am using Comcast for my cable/ISP in the Chicago suburbs. |
