From www.testmyvoip.com yesterday test 1

Yesterday test 2

Today Test 1

Today my inbound audio was clear but the outbound was choppy. It seems that the PAP2 updated itself this evening because it took a while to boot up with alot of activity on the lights. While waiting for the PAP2 to come back online I received a forewarded call to my cellphone, it was choppy as well.
I called tech support again this evening. "Daniel" made some changes "on the server" and I am waiting to reboot now. According to the bandwidth tester at Vonage.com I am getting download speeds of anywhere between 1.0 Mbps to 2.5 Mbps and uploads of 384 kbps to 556 kbps.
To place even more doubt that it has anything to do with the router. I am getting choppy audio even when the PAP2 is plugged directly into the modem. |

Talked to tech support three times last night. The third time I had a tech on the line that went by "James", he seemed pretty good and spoke pretty clear english. We ran some ping tests, bandwidth tests, trace route tests, called back and forth, and I think I even stood on my head and sang the national anthem. In the end he "changed some things on his end" and then we switched the phones from "Phone 1" to "Phone 2" on the PAP2 adapter. As of last night and one phone call, sound quality was much better. We will see how long it lasts. |
