My adapter is blinking 4 flashes... no dial tone and their website is down. No service outages in the left hand box of this page

While my adapter is fine and it seems to connect my calls, they are all very "digitized" sounding and choppy. I can't access the Vonage site as well here in NH.

PostPosted: Mon Apr 24, 2006 4:33 pm    Post subject: Vonage down? naahhh They just disconnected me?! Reply with quote Back to top

Go figure, I've had intermittent problems for the past month, people getting a disconnected notice etc, yet I was able to make calls from time to time... well as of about a week ago I got no dial tone. After sending an email and getting a rather useless response, I dared call support... got a gentleman in tech support who said my service was disconnected, but could not take the time to tell me why, so he transferred me to customer service where he said "they have all the information and can help you"... so 5-7mins later a lady answers I explain and she give me a phone number to call to have it reconnected...without any explanation...so I ask "aren't you customer service? Can't you tell me why it was disconnected? You just charged my card for this service on the 2nd.... She said she'd put me on hold and get the information..... when she returned she said she was transferring me to "advanced customer support", and before I could "gasp" she transferred me!!! The next recording said I have a 25 minute wait!! Thank God for unlimited cell minutes!

I must say, vonage's customer/tech support leaves much to be desired. If they have truly disconnected my service, then I simply want a refund on unused service from the last billing and goodbye! I'll happily pay a little more for a quality vendor.

oh well... hope you all are having better luck...oh I'm writing this small novel while waiting on hold!! Rolling Eyes

It's back up now.

I'd just like to know what is going on. On their website, they say "Come join over 1 million customers". Although that is very misleading, let's assume they actually have 600,000 customers.

600,000 customers
x 14.99 /mo (assuming they are ALL on the low plan)
= $8,994,000/mo they are grossing.

Whats the actual COST to them? And why not put some of those earnings back into the system and support staff.

In the 2 years I have been with them, I have not seen any NEW or asked for features added, unexplained outages and poor customer service.
