Have you managed it get working? if not check out these steps.
1. go to command prompt and type IP config. 2. you will see default gateway address as 192.168.xx.xx 3. Type the IP 192.168.15.1 on your browser, a page will open 4. enter user name as admin, and password address. 5. If your ISP has a static IP, set the router's default gateway to point to your ISP's (BSNL's) address. 6. insert the phone line in the phone socket and check if you get a dial tone. 7. Remember to make Voip work you need atleast 128 Kbps line. Download speed.
If the problem doesn't get resolved. Please feel free to contact me on 98216 45090.
All the best. |

I was just looking at the manual for the Huawei and it says the following on p. 8:
Note: Use cross-over cable to connect WA1003A and the uplink port of a switch or hub.
Note: The attached Ethernet cable in the packing box is a straight-through cable. Be sure that the cable connecting the LAN to A1003A cannot exceed 100 meters.
From what I can gather, it says that you need to use a cross-over cable if you want to connect the ethernet port to a switch or a hub. I am assuming that you are using the straight-through cable that came with the modem.
Could that be part of the problem? |

Since you are able to access the internet, I dont see the problem with the straight cable. However what happens with the other phone socket? does that blink too? Have you tried connecting your phone to the 2nd phone socket. Although Vonage has recommended using the 1st socket to get a good voice quality.
I had just managed to install my Vonage router, and after a service pack update on the OS, screwed up my settings. Here's the link to my post. If you know anything about this problem, please let me know.

Just to be clear, your Huawei has multiple ways to connect to devices. It has both an USB port and an Ethernet port. Are you by any chance connecting your computer to the USB port and trying to connect the rtp to the Ethernet port?
Your assumption that the straight through cable is working fine if you can access the internet is true if and only if your computer is connected to the rtp and the rtp is connect to the Huawei. Is that true?
Otherwise, if your computer is connected to your Huawei through the USB port, it is unlikely that your rtp will be able to access the internet at all.
Please confirm your exact setup of where every device connects to your Huawei.
If you are set up correctly, then the only thing I can think of is port forwarding needs to be done for your rtp. |

I hate to say it, but that RTP may be dead. The behavior you've been describing isn't normal. Have you tried a hard reset on it, using the recessed button on the back? |
