Is anyone else getting this error message frequently? Its happening more and more often that when I dial a number that I get warning that the lines are busy. Yet if you use a BT landline to make the call just after then you get through no problems.
What's the issue here does anyone know? |

This shouldn't happen! There is more than capacity on our circuits. Are you getting the message when you call specific numbers? are they domestic numbers? international numbers?
I suggest you ring Vonage customer service on 0800 008 6000 and they help you troubleshoot.

Yes I am also getting this with increasing frequency - seems to be worse with particular numbers - generally, in my experience, London numbers. vopnage have not been anle to do anything to assist or explain other than the usual suggestion of re-booting the router etc... |

Hi,
I found I get the Lines are busy message when Ive called a line thats in-active or the wrong number! If i call the wrong number on a BT line I get the number you have dialled cannot be recognised message, but on Vonage the line rings for a while then says the lines are busy!!
They need to sort it out really.

I seem to always get the "all lines are busy" message after a number of rings (I haven't bothered to count them!). Is this normal - are Vonage trying to stop people hanging on for an answer to reduce tied-up lines? This is quite annoying, because I keep having to re-dial the number until someone picks up the phone within this period. |

I've just discovered this is my problem after spending half an hour with tech support. They told me "it's not like a normal phone line, you have to dial the STD code".
Well if that's true then they've changed something. I've never had to use the STD code for local calls until very recently.
If so many people are experiencing this, how come the make out they've never heard of the problem when you call them? |

I don't know whether this is relevant, but in my telephone area (Tamworth), you have to include the STD code for older (5-digit) numbers, but not with later (6-digit) numbers. This is something I was told by a Vonage support person soon after I started using Vonage a couple of years ago. |

Yeah, I read about that somewhere on this board. Unfortunately there are no five-digit numbers down my way any more, and this has only started happening recently (in the last month or so).
I'm a little put out with them. They didn't give me a ticket number and I have no idea whether or not they're pursuing it (despite the fact that the guy said they'd look into it, I rather got the impression he was just trying to get me off the phone). This means if I try and chase it up I'll probably have to start from scratch again.
If it's by design they should have a recorded announcement telling us to redial with the STD code, not some old guff about the lines being busy. |
