I have a Telus DSL service with 2 static IP addresses, with a Voip (PAP2) adapter, is there any pros/cons to placing it on it's own IP address without a firewall? |

This biggest reason for not doing this would be to prevent DOS attacks on your PAP2.
As unlikely as this seems, in the early days of the Motorola VT series adapters port scans were causing them to hang and require a manual reset. It was the motivating factor for me moving my adapter inside my network. I understand this problem has been resolved, but unless you can find an advantage to putting your adapter outside your firewall I would put it inside. |

i'd keep it inside the firewall. like the above poster said, i don't see any advantages to being outside the firewall. unless, of course, your firewall is buggy and is causing a considerable performance loss. |

No, it was just with 2 static IP's, I could have the full bandwidth allocation of my 2nd IP address that I never use for my Voip line, I just added a firewall to that. |
