Hi,

Setup:

Comcast Cable and provided modem
Linksys WRTP54G Router with Vonage adapter
VTech IP 8100

Problem:

I bought the WRTP54G because I needed a wireless router to begin with and the rebates through Vonage made this router cheaper than other Linksys routers without the Vonage adapter. I also purchased the VTech IP 8100 Phone because I needed some cordless phones and I thought that these would work best since they showed that they specifically work with Vonage.

However, after registering online (which only allowed me to register one device - I registered the VTech phone adapter) and wiring the router and phone adapter, I can not get the phone system to work. The "Ready" light on the phone adapter constantly blinks yellow and I have no interenet connection through the device (when I plug a comp directly to the LAN port on the back).

I have spent over an hour on the phone with Vonage until my cell phone died, but all they have had me do is run the wizard 3 times and unplug/plug everything in repeatedly with no success. Does anyone have a suggestion? Does this combination of Vonage-ready devices even work?

Thanks

PROBLEM SOLVED Very Happy

After 3 calls, I spoke with someone who knew what to do right away. From what I understand, the VTech phone adapter was trying to run on the same IP address as the adapter within the Linksys WRTP54G. Going into the options on the VTech adapter (plugging in a computer to the adapter and opening the IP address in Explorer) we could change the IP address so that the two were different. I'm not sure of the parameters the new IP address had to fit under, initially all troubleshooting says the IP should be 192.168.15.xxx, but changing the IP address to 192.168.20.xxx allowed the whole thing to work.
