Not even hooked up yet and I already wonder if I should complete this process. Numerous forum topics are not encouraging either. Started with web site freezing at end of application. Then phone application took 45 minutes. Now I am in endless email loop with Indian tech support where they have only one answer for my 5 different questions. Their answer answers NONE of my questions.
If I ever get past India, is this the place to come for tech support? Why this "independent" place and not Vonage? Who pays "4Sight Media" to run this site? Can it be just the kindness of strangers?
Should I quit now while I'm behind? TIA.

Some of the Indian Tech support people are in New Jersey. i work in New Jersey and yes there are a heck of a lot of Indians in Tech jobs here! Too many actually.
Indians are special; they know a ton about a very limited area. They are really super deep in one specific field. |

First: You really need to be more specific about your issue. Some members here just might be able to help you.
Second: I off-set the servers and bandwidth cost via sales and ads, but the support here is coming from the kindness of strangers, as you suggest. Many of whom have become very good friends of mine. |

Well like most support forums in general, people dont seek them out to post glowingly about lack-of-problems and the wonderful experiences they had! If you were to judge Vonage entirely by the contents of this forum, I'd say RUN! I worked in a tech call center for awhile and it can get very depressing. People dont call tech support to tell you how much they love your product or that it's working perfectly...it's a constant stream of problems, problems, problems!
BUT let me tell you that I have had a wonderful experience thus far. My kit showed up fast, it worked out of the box, my number just transffered succesfully, and the quality is excellent. I'm a happy camper, and I would tell you to hang in there & give it a shot. |
