Post subject: Curious about how it works
I have been getting bombarded by my cable company about
Voip
phone service.
Do they install the same type of equipment that
Vonage
would install? I am using Charter.
No plans to switch, just wondering.
Thanks and Happy Easter?

not sure how charter does it, but you can see the products you can get from
Vonage
here:
http://vonage.com/products.php?lid=nav_products
this is an example of how it would be set up:

I understand the equipment from
Vonage
, as I have three lines already.
I am wondering if Charter uses the same concept. A router off ther modem??
Thanks again

oh ok, sorry not sure. you're probably better off going to a general
Voip
forum as opposed to a
Vonage
one (i.e.
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/voip
) or making a quick phone call to charter.
