Sorry I probably won't be of much help. Like you said your scenario is different. Steve48 (Steve Gray) seems to be a very helpful chap, hopefully he'll chime in. I would have a couple of questions if I was trying to debug your issue. 1) Is your firmware up-to-date. Last I checked mine was at 1.00.62 for the WRTP54G (Can't check it right now) 2) Is there a reason you think CPI is causing the issue to worsen? CPI's monitoring is "on event". They don't call in and get updates. If I'm not clear...an example would be: The alarm gets set, goes off(you walk out the back door or something), then the alarm takes control of the phone line and dials out to CPI. It sends the event type (alarm, fire, medical....) and the monitoring company comes across the line.
That's a really long way to say that if you think CPI is causing an issue try removing them from the system and see if the situation improves. |

Joephil,
Your 2.4 GHz cordless is a recipe for trouble. It can, and probably is, interfering with your wireless router. This sort of thing is intermittent and tends to produce seemingly mysterious symptoms. Try using a regular analog phone, or disable the wireless feature on your router, and see if the trouble goes away.
Berettaman, thanks for the vote of confidence! |
