I just got my Vonage service activated last week and was cut off from landline phone service this week. Am trying to get Vonage signal throughout existing jacks, but some are dead. I have my Vonage adapter connected to a phone jack in my office. The signal is replicating to phone jacks in my playroom and guestroom. However, I have 2 jacks downstairs and 2 more jacks in my bedroom that are dead. I have mostly sequential wiring. I'm guessing that I need to determine how my jacks are wired together? I'm trying to run everything using the red/green wires, but that might be wrong. I'd like any advice folks have. All jacks worked just fine on landline service. I'm formerly a computer programmer, now a homemaker, so still feel like I should be able to figure this out. Guess I can't. Any help would be great. Thanks! |

If all of the jacks were working on the same line before, then they should all work now with Vonage plugged into one of the jacks. Since some don't, it's likely that something came undone when you disconnected from the old telephone company line. What exactly did you do to disconnect from the land line? What did things look like before you disconnected, and what do they look like now? |

When my number transfer was complete, I went to my NIU and disconnected the short phone cords plugged into the two phone jacks. I left all other wiring alone and plugged Vonage into an inside jack. I've tried other configurations at the inside phone jacks that don't work, but that hasn't done the trick. |

Quite odd. You did exactly the right thing. Are you sure that all the jacks were live before and that they were all serviced by the same land line?? If so, try getting a female/female adapter and connecting the two plugs that you pulled in the box together . |
