Post subject: Vonage with a PBX?
Has anyone successfully connected
Vonage
to a PBX? We would like to have multiple
Vonage
line appearances at our business phones, but most PBXs require 48V (telco voltage) to get them to work.
Is there any documentation available for this? Where can I find more?
Thanks
Steve

ive also been looking into getting
Voip
for the company that i work for ( Im the systems & network admin) thru our pbx, although I dont think im going thru
Vonage
. They simply have a ongoing problems that i cant risk my job over.
but i think the
Vonage
adapters would work fine- since the pbx has its own power source. I might bring mine in one day and see if it works.

Post subject: Vonage with an Avaya Magix PBX
I am not sure about your particular PBX - but I have been using
Vonage
with an Avaya Magix PBX - sort of as a test. The Magix analog ports can be configured as loop or ground start - so the
Vonage
loop start service is not a problem. However, I have not been able to figure out how to get Caller ID information passed to the PBX - for some reason it just does not work. I have a splitter on the Linksys router and a cheap Caller ID display has no problem capturing name & number - the PBX however captures nothing. Calls to customer support and higher level support have not been particularly helpful. I participate in other Lucent/Avaya forums and know that people have been using
Vonage
successfully with Legend, Partner and even really old Merlin systems - however caller ID may not be an issue for them. If your PBX irequires ground start lines and there is no option for loop-start lines - then you may be out of luck.
