Can I receive a collect call with Vonage?

At this time, no. Vonage does not allow collect telephone calls.

You can take a 800 number and people can call you free. only 5 bucks a month

I stand to be corrected. The toll free number allows for 100 minutes of incoimg calls and then charges 3.9 cents for each thereafter.

Sounds like a better deal than collect calls. Those usually cost a lot.

I was just asked this question by a co-worker...Can you receive collect calls with Vonage?

While the 800 number is an idea, or even the cheaper route of a virtual number in the same area code as the caller, this will not solve the dilemma of some.

This particular co-worker has a relative that is a member of one of Georgia's finest correctional facilities. As most of you know, maybe, most of these fine establishments will only allow calls from their members if they place it as a collect call. I don't know the reasoning, but they don't. So Vonage is out for this co-worker, at least until her son's membership expires.

LOL, I have a similar situation and Vonage has given me a polite way to say "no" to expensive collect calls while being able to blame it on my phone carrier. Did I mention that I am Evil. LOL
