Your modem cannot serve both the USB and the Ethernet at the same time. You will have to choose one of them.

You will need to do one of two things:

1. Get a router (recommended) and hook the Ethernet from your modem to your router, then hook both your computer and your Vonage device into the router.

2. Use the USB connection to your computer, then use "internet connection sharing" from your computer to your Vonage device (means your computer will have to be on to use Vonage).

I am assuming your PC is running Windows XP. What you want to do is enable a function called "Internet Connection Sharing".

Here is a basic tutorial on it.

http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/

I have never used Internet Connection Sharing myself, but others around here have, and they can probably give you more specific advice than I can. However, the basics are that you want:

1. Modem connected to PC via USB port, and Internet working on the PC.
2. PC's Ethernet port connected to WAN/Internet port on PAP2.
3. Computer taking USB connection and "sharing internet" (or "bridging" the connection) with the Ethernet port on the PC.

This turns your PC into a crude router, that allows the PAP2 to connect to the Internet through it.

Just get a router and be done with it - they are cheap. Connect modem to the router, and connect PCs and PAP2 to the router and everyone will be happy! Very Happy

rasp -

No one here works for Vonage. Vonage does not read this forum. If you want help, even advice getting your money back, we'll try to help. If you want to simply spam the forum and all of our other threads with "WAAAAH!! I'M A CRYBABY!!!! WATCH ME CRY!!!", then your threads will probably be deleted by our moderator.

Request for help, in any form, on any Vonage subject, are welcomed. In fact, if you try again and be polite, and follow the rules, maybe someone will post the CEO's phone number, as has been done in the past....

EDIT: Whoops, the post got deleted even before I posted my reply. Dan - Feel free to whack this one too, or leave it up and maybe the original poster will read it and ask for help, and get some assistance.
